Our Story

Torque Training started with 2 brothers from South Africa who both desperately needed to rethink their lifestyles. Overweight with a poor outlook on life, we decided to turn things around and start Torque Training when we moved to Bristol. Along the journey we both played professional sport, which bought us to the West Country in the United Kingdom. 

We thrive on the relationships we build in our industry and most recently we recognised the necessity to bring in much needed fresh ideas, energy and business mentorship. We have added 3 siblings in our business support group and another ex-professional athlete as directors, all of whom have helped Torque Training grow and transform into Torque 2.0.

We are extremely excited to share our new facility and training methodology with our existing and new members soon.

What We Stand For

At Torque Training we believe that the way you train will manifest itself in all aspects of your life – health, wealth, social, self-development and spiritual. Through training your body in strength, power, endurance, mobility, flexibility and speed, you can build the core to your longevity. Our philosophy is that training is the cornerstone of health and wellness and the foundation on which to enhance our lives.  That it fosters creativity, is more about the mental than the physical, and embraces all aspects of your life, while being fun and enjoyable.

We train people to help them grow into the best versions of themselves, to allow them to live truly fulfilled lives through accountability, consistency, commitment, dedication and a supportive community.

Meet Our Coaches

Our coaches at Torque Training are actively enriching the lives of our members by building trust through our coaching and creating a community of likeminded people who love being healthy and strong.



Who We Are

Ant Fenton-Wells

Head Coach and Director

Ant has worked in the health and fitness industry for 12 years, 5 of which were spent as General Manager of Roark Gyms in South Africa. He has been mentored by some of the most influential people in the fitness industry and has qualified as a Gym Jones Instructor.

Tom Luke

Coach and Director

Tom has a background in professional rugby, having played professionally for 10 years. He has taken his experience in professional sport and up-skilled himself to become an elite level coach with a diverse set of skills.

Nick Fenton-Wells

Coach and Director

Nick played rugby professionally for 10 years and recently retired from the professional game. During his final few years he setup Torque Training with his brother, Ant - taking key learnings from his Masters in Business Administration and putting them into practice. He continues to up-skill as a health and fitness coach
